Why this angel was left here
Old Ephraim, also known as “Old Three Toes,” was a legendary grizzly that roamed the mountains around Cache Valley and the Bear Lake region in the early 1900s. He became notorious among local sheep ranchers because he repeatedly raided sheep herds and was extraordinarily difficult to catch. Stories about him grew until he was almost a mythical character in the region.
