Today we tucked Angel #6,535 onto the little lending-library shelf at our campground, nestled among books waiting to be discovered. I love the thought that someone may come looking for a story to read and instead find a tiny reminder that they are loved. And this angel has landed in a place with an extraordinary story of its own. In 1959, a massive 7.3 earthquake struck near Hebgen Lake. The earthquake triggered an enormous landslide, dammed the Madison River and created Earthquake Lake. It also caused Hebgen Lake to surge back and forth in huge waves and dramatically affected Yellowstone’s geothermal features. There is something beautifully fitting about leaving an angel here. A place where the earth once moved. A little angel that might move a heart
